We Need Trees
To keep our neighborhoods cool as the climate heats up
To prevent flooding and erosion
To act as windbreaks for wind and fire storms
To sequester megatons of green house carbon gas each year
To provide habitat for our local wildlife, migrating birds and Monarchs. Our coast is part of the Great Pacific Flyway Zone.
Deforestation is happening all around the world, including here in California. All trees have a climate protective role (regardless of type of tree). We encourage you to learn more about the POWER of Trees and Soil. Check out our collection of Nature Videos - watch the innovative ways others are mitigating global warming and be inspired. There is much hope! Write to your county and state officials. Plant a tree in your yard especially if you must remove one. Get involved. Let’s make a difference.
