Wildlife on
Deer Creek
El Granada, CA

Deer Creek is a well established wildlife corridor and has a history of receiving a protected riparian status.

Coyotes, mountain lions, raccoons, deer and foxes can be seen briefly emerging onto the road along Deer Creek. They quickly return to using the heavily vegetated creek as their protected pathways. Opossums and skunks are known for sheltering under the decks and driveway ramps on houses built on the creek.

When wildlife uses the heavily vegetated creek bed to move through the neighborhood, rather than sidewalks and roads, separation of pedestrians, animals, and cars lessens possible encounters or collisions.
